Source text · highlightedA telephone repair man discovered Henry Soukkala’s body on Oct. 31, 1975, near the back door of Soukkala’s home in Sawyer, Minn. The phone had been ripped from the wall. Soukkala was fatally shot between 9 p.m. Weds. Oct. 29 and 6 a.m. Thurs., Oct. 30. A witness living about a mile away told investigators that he heard shots at 5:10 a.m. on Oct. 30. Investigators believe Soukkala was awakened by an intruder and a confrontation took place during which Soukkala was shot and killed.
