Source text · highlightedMonday, September 30th 2002 Murder of Francisco Zuniga-Zuniga Overpass Apartments Zuniga was walking in the area of the Overpass Apartments in Palmetto on September 30, 2002 at about 11:20 pm when two black male suspects shot Zuniga in an apparent robbery attempt. Francisco Zuniga, age 28, was walking in the area 1018 1st Ave. Ct. in the Overpass Apartments in Palmetto on September 30, 2002 at about 11:20 pm when two black male suspects approached Zuniga. The suspects are between the ages of 17 and 24, both between 5'10" tall, thin in build with short hair. Both suspects are black males. They shot Zuniga in an apparent robbery attempt. Zuniga was a migrant laborer for Pacific Tomatoes in Palmetto. He was a husband and father of a family in Mexico. He had a passion for playing soccer and on the day of his death, had been playing soccer with his team for most of the day. He was still wearing his soccer uniform when he was killed.
