Source text · highlighted40 year old James Curtis was a successful business man and resided in the Brooks Towers high rise apartment complex located on 15th and Curtis Streets in downtown Denver. On August 3, 1981, when Mr. Curtis failed to show up for work, a concerned co-worker called the police. Officers responded to the residence of Mr. Curtis and discovered him inside the apartment deceased. Mr. Curtis had been beaten to death by unknown suspect(s).
