Source text · highlightedOn July 2, 1988, 32 year old Thomas Templeton, who also goes by the name "Chip", rented a room at the La Vista Motel located near Holly Street on East Colfax Avenue.
Thomas rented the room under a different name and was seen checking in with a second male described as having reddish hair and a muscular build. Thomas was found strangled to death in his room. His vehicle was found a few days later at East 12th Avenue and Pearl Street in the Capitol Hill neighborhood.
