Source text · highlightedOn September 28, 1976, members of the Denver Police Department responded to the
area of East 33rd Avenue and Cherry Street to investigate a report of a male
found inside of a vehicle deceased. During the initial investigation, it was
determined that the victim, subsequently identified as forty-two year old
Benjamin Chavez, had been shot to death. The suspect(s) responsible for
the murder of Mr. Chavez have yet to be identified.
