Luisa Delacruz Case # 08-41473. Luisa Delacruz, a Hispanic female with a date of birth of May of 1962, was reported missing to the Bradenton Police Department on August 10th, 2008 at 9:00 PM. She was last seen alive on the evening of August 9th. On the morning of August 11th, Delacruz’s body was discovered in an orange grove in the 22000 block of County Road 675. Delacruz had been in the orange grove for at least 12-20 hours prior to being discovered. She was still wearing the clothes she disappeared in but her fanny pack was missing. The cause of death was a stabbing and cutting of her neck. The suspected motive is financial based upon the information provided to detectives that she carried large amounts of money in her fanny pack. A person of interest was identified early in the investigation, but the person –Ramiro Matias, date of birth March 5, 1981- has fled to Mexico and has refused to return to the US.
