Source text · highlightedWhen Baltimore County police arrived in the unit block of Silerton Court in Lansdowne on August 30, 2011, they located 18-year-old Tyran Smoot suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body inside an apartment. Medics transported Tyran to an area hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased. Witnesses reported that Tyran was outside the location when a lone gunman appeared and shot him. Tyran then fled inside to an apartment.
